OUR WORKSHOPS OFFER

Clay hand-building: welcome to the world of ceramics!

The entire workshop is dedicated to working with clay and allows participants to learn various ceramic-making techniques, including modeling, slab building and coil building, pressing with a plaster mold, joining elements, and using textures.

What will we create: our own ceramic piece — a mug, a bowl, or a plate!

Material: natural ceramic clay.

Tools: rolling pins, sponges, ribs, wooden sticks, cutters.

Workshop step by step:

Introduction to the technique used, safety rules
Preparing the clay for hand-building
Smoothing and shaping the form
Adding decorations and textures (stamps, drawings, grass impressions)
Forming and joining elements (walls, handles, decorations)

Collecting the works: after drying and two firings, within up to 3 weeks

Ceramic painting workshop on fired bisque ware

Painting fired ceramics is a technique based on decorating previously fired pieces using underglaze paints. Participants learn how to create patterns, mix colors, and apply details so that after firing the decorations become durable and vibrant. This method allows full freedom to experiment with color and composition, creating unique mugs, plates, and bowls that stand out with their individual character and rich color intensity.

What will we create: a mug or a plate with your own colorful design!

Material: once-fired ceramic ware (bisque), glazes, underglaze paints.
Tools: brushes in various sizes

Workshop step by step:

Introduction to the technique used, safety rules
Creating a design concept and choosing colors
Painting with underglaze paints using a brush
Applying glazes, experimenting with colors
Preparing the piece for firing

Collecting the works: after one firing, within up to 1 week

Ceramics Decorating Workshop: Sgraffito and Transfers

Sgraffito – a unique technique for decorating ceramics, which involves applying a layer of paint onto the surface of a vessel and then scratching patterns to reveal the layer beneath. This creates contrasting, decorative designs and reliefs. This technique can be combined with stamping, texture impressions, or other decorations, allowing for the creation of highly individual and striking patterns on plates.
What we will create: personalized, decorated plates
Materials: plates shaped and in a “leather-hard” state, underglaze paints, ceramic transfers
Tools: brushes, sponges, spatulas, stamps, scratching tools
Workshop step by step:

Introduction to the technique and safety guidelines
Choosing a vessel and designing a pattern
Applying colors and underglaze paints
Attaching ceramic transfers with images and patterns
Creating designs using the sgraffito technique (scratching, reliefs)

Collecting your work: after two firings, within up to 2 weeks

Linocut Workshop: Printing on Paper and Bags

Linocut / block printing on bags – a technique for creating your own designs by carving motifs into linoleum, which are then printed onto canvas bags or paper. Participants learn how to design patterns, transfer them onto a matrix, carve precisely, and then apply ink to create unique prints. This method makes every bag individual and one-of-a-kind, while allowing participants to experiment with repeating patterns, color contrasts, and different printing effects.

What we will create: a personalized canvas bag with a unique design and a print sample on paper

Materials: canvas bags, linoleum/matrix, printing inks
Tools: linocut gouges, rollers, sponges, test paper

Workshop activities:

Designing a pattern and transferring it onto the matrix

Carving the design into linoleum

Printing the design on the bag and test paper

Finished bag ready to take home

Collecting your work: immediately after the workshop or the next day

We invite you to the cozy and warm space of ECHOES in the heart of Kraków, where creativity and craftsmanship come together.

The studio opened in 2020 and is specially designed for creating, connecting people, and crafting magical moments.

Our workshops are a perfect opportunity to discover the joy of making, relax, and learn new skills.

Who can join?

The workshops are suitable for beginners and those with no prior experience.
We welcome adults and children of all ages (except for the linocut workshop – from 14 years old).

No artistic skills are required – during the workshops, we’ll show simple and effective decorating techniques that allow everyone to create something unique.
